To let these conditions go unchecked can lead to many other life-threatening conditions such as heart attack, stroke, or major organ failure. To be tested for type 2 diabetes the doctor only needs to give you a simple blood test. From the blood test he or she will be able to determine whether you have diabetes or not. The doctor then will make a choice to both put you on a diet and exercise program or to start on a regimen of medications such as Avandamet.
